Ngada Regency
The Ngada Regency was split into two in 2007, with part being formed into a new Nagekeo Regency. The remaining Ngada Regency is now divided into nine districts, tabulated below with their 2010 Census population.

It is one of the poorest regions in the country but is increasing in popularity among international tourists.
The two most visited areas in the Ngada region are Bena and Wogo, both unique megalithic complexes with traditional housing. To Ngadha society, the traditional houses occupy an important role as organizational units, as villagers must each belong to a house, thereby a clan. Clan totems can be ornately crafted symbols of this social organization.
In 1968 stegodon fosil and stone artefacts are found in Soa Valley. In 1991 excavation is done, but no significant result occurred. In 1994 excavation, researchers found 12 sites of artefacts and the fosils. Age of Soa Valley is about 650,000 to 1.02 million years with at least 2 times of devastated volcanic events. Until now the researchers aren't yet found human fosil, but they believe they will find it, because they have found many artefacts and if it occur, it will change migration concept to the east.
