Soekarwo
Soekarwo end his education in State Elementary School Palur, State Junior High School 2 Ponorogo (1965), and Social Senior High School Madiun (1969). He get his Master of Law Degree in Universitas Airlangga Surabaya (1979), meanwhile his law abschluss in Surabaya University (1996), and his doctor degree in Universitas Diponegoro Semarang (2004).
When East Java held gubernatorial election in 2008, Soekarwo announced his candidacy and supported by Partai Amanat Nasional and Partai Demokrat (Democratic Party). His running-mate was Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul, former minister in President Yudhoyono's cabinet. Thie election was interesting. Soekarwo won in 1st round with 26% votes. Because there's not candidate win over 30%, the 2nd round would be held. Soekarwo won again but with close margins. His rival, Khofifah, demanding new round after alleged election fraud. The 3rd round was held and wins by Soekarwo. Finally, Soekarwo was sworn in on February where supposedly he has sworn in before new year.Now, he is running for re-election in 2013 gubernatorial election. After many speculations about his running mate, Soekarwo announced that Saifullah Yusuf will became his running-mate for 2nd term.
